Max Brenner's chocolate temples have multiplied across the country, but his message of cocoa idolatry does not seem to have been dulled by repetition. The Melbourne Central store is as popular as all the rest, drawing crowds of chocoholics with its promise of fine, rich chocolate products and a non-judgmental space for these fanatics to openly worship the bean. Subtitled 'Chocolate by the Bald Man', Brenner's domed visage looks down approvingly as people sample the sensuous pleasures of his steaming hot chocolates (served in oddly shaped cups for hugging with both hands), fondue and his artistic truffles and chocolate blocks.

The one and only place to satisfy your chocolate cravings
After a shopping spree in Melbourne Central my sweet tooth started aching. There was no better place than Max Brenner. As we headed into the cafe to make our orders we were directed to our seats. I guess we should have ordered first? I ordered the double waffle and hot chocolate with small chocolate pieces. My brother had a chocolate fondue. As the place was over-packed it took quite long for our plates to arrive. The staff is not enough to supervise the amount of customers.
In conclusion, the waffles are awesome and the hot chocolate never turns me down, leaving me with a full stomach of just PLAIN CHOCOLATE..

When The Chocolate Cravings Become Unbearable....
...I head to Max Brenner at Melbourne Central. The chocolate dishes and drinks are irresistable, and the chocolate blend is unique, rich and VERY satisfying. I usually get the same thing each time - double Waffle with double chocolate lick and strawberries, but the few times I have branched out into the souffle or the hot chocolates, I have not been disappointed.
The service really does take ages, it seems they do not have enough staff to cover the constant influx of customers, and the place is CONSTANTLY busy - morning, day and night.
The best Max Brenner, definitely better than QV and The Glen.

Chocolate with a hollow centre
The cafe looks the part but lacks the substence. The chocolate souffle is satisfyingly decadent, but served on its own, seemed overpriced. The service is hurried and unorganized which also spoilt the atmosphere.
