Although just a stone's throw from the old venue within the club itself, this elegant eatery takes club dining to a whole new level of culinary sophistication. Every second Saturday, owner Maurizio Di Ciano takes diners on a tour of regional Italy with a sensational five-course set menu. Accompanied by three opera singers, a violinist and an accordion player, the menu explores both famous and lesser-known food regions for far less than the cost of an airfare. The regular menu offers an equally impressive array of both traditional and contemporary Italian fare, created with impeccable skill by chef Anthony McLernon. His rustic Italian bread is a hit, as is the roasted baby goat and the braised rabbit, both served with roast potatoes and vegetables. To complement Antony's fine work, Maurizio offers more than 100 wines, one third of them Italian, with many available by the glass.

read the latest gourmet traveller restaurant guide assuring no influence on reviews. Maurizio well reviewed so seven of us arrive to an overlit dated restaurant on Saturday night. only the wine was acceptable. seafood ravioli was rubber. steak tartare arrived cut for a terriers meal with fat still on. Pasta ribbons with gorgonzola were bubbling still from over microwaving. duck and pork not to standard expected in 2010 gourmet traveller reviewed restaurant. service staff could not get placement correct for whole evening. desserts only just passed the ok cafe test.

Very Disappointing
After reading a glowing review about this restaurant, we decided to give it go. Unfortunately we were all very disappointed.
First impressions were good with great atomosphere and attentive service. Bread is replenished free of charge which is a nice touch however, the chilli oil accompanying it was nuclear hot. I enjoy chilli but it took a while for any sensation of taste to return!
Entree of parapadelle with porcini mushroom was passable but the tiger prawns were very basic and not of great quality. A main course of four small scampi and lettuce (that was all) at $48 did not impress at all. The scampi was soft and tasteless. Two of our table had the veal medallions which were over cooked and were served with boiled potato and one piece of brocolli, nothing that couldn't have easily been prepared at home.
On checking the bill, it became apparent that we had been overcharged by $50 on our wine. While this was an honest mistake, it left a sour taste after such disappointing food.
The very average standard of food and high prices, comparable to Perths finest restauants, are way out of kilter.

Fantastic
Ate here on a recommendation from a colleague - magnifico - what more can I say?
The food, the service, the atmosphere - all great! The staff were attentive and polite. The price reasonable. Hope the next visit is just as impressive.
