It was a beautiful day in Perth and what a great place to take out of towners.
We enjoyed fresh local seafood accompanied by a great selection of local wines whilst enjoying the fabulous view. Definately one of our favourite restaurants in Perth! The view is very hard to beat!

Just a quick note to say my wife and I enjoyed a fantastic night here last saturday, I had a SUPERB steak and my wifes duck main course was great, being a fan she always makes a point of ordering duck if its on the menu and she assures me it was the best she s had in a long time. The service was friendly but not obtrusive, we got help with choosing a wine (which matched our meals perfectly) and the view just topped it off. Definitely be returning!

My husband and I like to try new restaurants and since it was our 1st year wedding anniversary we thought we would this was a great opportunity to try Matilda Bay. But we were very disappointed to say the least. When we first arrived we were only offered "still or sparkling water" and were not given the option of the free filtered tap water until later in the evening when we finished our $7.50 bottled "still" water. But dinner was even more of a waste of money. My husband ordered the WA Marron ($48) and received a small marron, a few prawns and what was meant to be a tomato confit and avocado salsa (which really meant chopped tomato and avocado and nothing else, no dressings, herbs, spices or even salt and pepper). And my Seafood paella was more like salty rice with a bit of seafood added to it. (No crust on the bottom like paella should have!) Lets just say we didnt stick around to try the dessert.

My partner and I had a great experience here, only minor complaint would be the service once we sat down at our table as we seemed to get overlooked but otherwise very friendly. Cocktails before hand were fantastic, sitting outlooking the river tucked around the corner in a little booth that opened straight onto the foreshore - very nice, as for the food couldnt complain at all, the bread was v nice. My partner had the steak and i had the salmon - fabbo!!

Matilda Bay has been around for a while now and always continues to impress. The view both day and night is spectacular and it can be enjoyed equally for lunch as it is for dinner. The food is consistently outstanding and always adapting and changing. The service as always is brilliant.
Whilst i like the old, the new renovations really bring a real modern and contemporary feel that has been executed perfectly. The addition of a separate bar area is a welcome addition to soak in the surrounding.
I love the originality of the side dishes and there is always something exciting to choose from on the menu. One of Perth's best restaurants.

We attended a wedding reception at Matilda Bay. Due to food intolerances I can't consume gluten, sugar, or sweetener. The waitress who served our table took wonderful care of this situation, making sure that I had food I could eat, and checking back with the chef for options. I had just assumed that it was possible I'd go hungry for the night. On top of that, our waitress made lovely conversation with all our table as she kept our drinks topped up, and deserves 15 gold stars (out of a possible 10) for excellence in customer service. The food was absolutely divine, and I was even served a scrumptious fruit platter for dessert, which meant I didn't feel sad and envious about everyone else! We will be dining with them again - and again, and again.

My husband thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Matilda Bay Restaurant. The staff were refreshingly friendly and efficient and I can safely say the seafood plates we had were the nicest we have ever had. The seafood was generous and cooked to perfection so the meat fell away from the shells without sticking and was beautifully tender. My sashimi entree was perfect and my husband enjoyed his oysters. We only wish we had room for dessert but we will return in the near future for sure.

A short note to say that our group of 6 thought the whole New Year's Eve function was absolutely fantastic. The band (Ruby Tuesday?) was just excellent - suggest you book them in again for next year. They were just so right for the night!
