Manly Pavilion
Manly Pavilion has been reborn. The heritage-listed former bathers' pavilion now stands as a meeting of yesteryear and the present, majestically towering over Manly Cove, and offering stunning harbour views from the Italian marble terrazzo balcony. But that's only the beginning. In its new incarnation as a fine-dining and drinking destination, Manly Pavilion is headed up by the best of the best: seasoned restaurateur David Gray (Ceruti's) and chef Jonathan Barthelmess (Icebergs Dining Room & Bar, Oscillate Wildly), and their talented head chef James Parry (2009 Josephine Pignolet Young Chef of the Year). Together, they create an Italian-Mediterranean culinary experience designed to resonate. Parry and co. titillate the senses with handmade pastas like pappardelle with wild boar ragu; carnivorous offerings like roast lamb fillet with olive and caponata; and intriguing seafood selections like scallops, snapper, prawn and mussels baked in a bag. Add a bevy of decadent desserts and finely crafted cocktails, and you have yourself a potentially rapturous concoction.
