Average at best
I ate there in a group of 12 the menu was restricted because we had such a 'large' group. The meals took over 1.5 hrs to get out to us and even then they were bland at best. One of the waitresses was rude, slack and unfriendly. For the dollars vs food quality I would have been much better off at the pub. It is a pity because the venue itself looks really nice and is very comfortable. But unfortunately I'd stay clear, lots more eateries in the Yarra Valley that rate a lot better than this one!

Wow is all I can say about Mandala Restaurant! We had the best lunch, the food and wine were exceptional, and the service was fantastic. Highly recommended for any occasion!

Great new restaurant
Fantastic food! A truly stunning sensory experience and taste explosion. Wines are excellent (as a professional wine broker) and staff brilliant - friendly, attentive but not intrusive. Many thanks and well worth it! Don't forget to taste the scallops dish, amazing!

What an event!
Recently invited to the launch of the restaurant at Mandala Wines and I have to say, it was a great day. Granted it was an event and highly organised but to do so successfully is easier said than done. There must have been close to 80 people for lunch but the food coming out of the kitchen was amazing; scallops with a sauce of muscatels and pine nuts, confit duck leg and slow cooked lamb (which was so good one lady swore it was beef, but you can't help bad genetics). The staff were great; young and able and full of smiles and the new building an interesting architectual addition to the Yarra Valley. I can't wait to go back there for lunch or dinner as a paying customer. The promise is huge.
