Behind the self-deprecating name lies a slick addition to the suburban Kew streetscape. This simple yet stylish diner serves hearty and skillfully crafted Italian food of which Mamma would indeed be proud.

Response to 'Cost conscious diners beware!' by owner
Firstly, I would like to thank all of 'yourRestaurant.com.au' users for giving up their time and writing a review.
As I regularly visit the site to keep track of our progress, once again thank you, I was disheartened to have read the below review by Mspurple and would like to take the opportunity to clear up one or two points.
The Early Bird Special menu differs from the A la Carte menu (which changes regularly, to give our patrons a chance to try a variety of dishes) and is given upon request. I am delighted that many of our patrons have come in to try it, and even more so when they tell me in person what they thought of their experience and of any changes they would like to see take place.
Secondly, Mspurple, we may not have a 'Fair Play Policy' written up by some big law firm, such as other big companies which a customer is required to read before enjoying its goods and/or services, but a little common sense must not be too much to ask for.
I would hope that any patron of mine or patrons of other establishments, speak to the people in charge i.e. management / owners if they were unhappy with their experience, where I would try to rectify any unpleasantries, as I am sure would be the case in other establishment.
Once again, I would like to thank yourRestaurant.com.au and its users, for their time and effort, as it is a great way for me and my team to keep track of our progress.
Kind Regards
Sebastian Bertucci Mamma's Boy

Cost conscious diners beware!
Went to the restaurant at 6.00pm to take advantage of their new offer of dining between 5.30-6.30pm for $20 per person - two courses. Ordered two courses each, + garlic bread + bottle of reasonably priced Australian riesling, and was charged $140 for the meal. We were charged full price for all the dishes and when I queried why it was all so dear - had we missed the 5.30-6.30 special eating time, I was told it was a different menu for that dining special. Very, very disappointed and will be telling everybody I know about this, local or otherwise.
No apology, no nothing. Not good enough, and not happy Jan!

Nice early dinner
The service is fantastic. The starters are generously proportioned and I recommend the crochetti di rosa. For mains I would however not recommend the canneloni as it was watery but the Marco Pollo was fantastic. Desserts are a little mediocre but otherwise it's great value for money.

Had dinner there with some friends - excellent menu and the food is cooked to perfection. Service is wonderful too with an extensive wine list. Will definitely be returning!

Great new find
Popped in for lunch with a couple of friends. Has only been open for a few weeks but the host, Adrian, has put things together well. The atmosphere is good and the menu excellent. Leaning towards Italian but wide variety of dishes to choose from. Tried the tagliatelle with prawns - worth its weight in gold. Good wine list. This needs support early to ensure that it has a good future. Heartily recommend.
