Something of a hidden gem that isn't so hidden anymore, this new incarnation of the Broadway classic shares all the same great Malaysian flavours of the original - brought to life on the northern beaches. Malacca already has many loyal regulars who come for the cheap prices and, above all, the strikingly authentic Malaysian laksas and Thai hawker-style noodles. Malay food enthusiasts will appreciate the inclusion of sambal (a spicy sauce dish) and assam (a seafood-based style of laksa) among the many traditional elements here.
