With a slick designer fit-out which (with the exception of the glass display fridges and simple seating) more closely resembles a chic restaurant than inner-city chicken shop, it is immediately obvious that this is no ordinary deli. For lunch or dinner, visitors can choose between such culinary delights as the spice-rubbed free-range roast chicken; wintery braised lamb shanks with cinnamon, garlic and thyme; 10-hour slow-cooked lamb shoulder with dates, almonds, walnuts and honey; or spicy vegetable hot pot. A number of side dishes, dips, spectacular salads and freshly made cakes also grace the menu.
The vast gourmet burger combinations alone are worth a special trip and feature such creations as the vego Mr Pumpkin Burger (roast pumpkin, blue cheese, walnuts, caramelised onion, rocket, aioli and relish), the Middle Eastern Mama (herb-and-spiced chicken, baba ghanoush, whipped feta, rocket and za'tar) and the Little Piggy Burger (slow-cooked pork, corn puree, grated apple, currents, aioli, rocket and relish).
