Contrary to the cafe's name, this is one Greek that won't make you mad. On the other hand, it may make you mad about the freshly made foods on offer at Mad Greek. One of the most surprising things about this Newtown cafe (an offshoot of a popular North Sydney cafe) is the generosity of value you get: the breakfast plates are like flying saucers filled with favourites like eggs Benedict with homemade hollandaise sauce, or sweet corn fritters on thick toast with spinach and tomato. For lunch, dinner and later, Mad Greek pulls out a mix of burgers, pizzas, breads and other savoury nosh, many of them containing a charming Greek spin or two. Be sure to grab coffee, fresh bread, and perhaps a baklava from this deserving cheap eat.
