Since splashing onto the Mandurah waterfront in June 2009, this robust, multi-million dollar gem is making quite an impression on the local dining scene. Run by the Monaghan family of Perth's popular Subiaco Hotel, M on the Point makes a point of catering to all occasions, with both casual and formal dining areas, two well-stocked bars, and an enormous alfresco area that puts you right on the water's edge. Chef Ivan Mather helms the culinary action that goes on at M on the Point, serving unique Modern Australian cuisine that may include anything from a wagyu beef burger to a delicious gourmet pizza.

Too expensive
We had a lovely meal at M on the Point, the food was good, the waitress just lovely and the kids were well taken care of with colouring and prompt meals. The only down side was the size of the bill. It's not a 5 star restaurant but the prices certainly are, bring the cost down and it's a winner.

No food???
We decided to sit outside and watch the sunsut, although abit chilly it was very nice. We ordered a bottle of wine and fish and chips each, we were nearly half way through the bottle of wine when my stomach started to rumble. We were then shut out as they closed the big doors to keep the people inside warm, i kept thinking our food would arrive soon they couldnt have forgotten us as they can see us through the windows. After we had finished the wine and sat sobering up for 20 more minutes we decided to go in and ask where our food was, the waitress who had taken our order looked very embarrased and walked out of sight, the waitperson behind the bar said they didnt have our order, we asked to speak to the manager who had to be 18 years old (not that it matters) he looked at us and said we had to pay for the wine and the kitchen was now too busy to serve us as the local football team was now in and ordering food, they didnt even give us a discount. Its a shame because it is in a nice area with a great view but its run by amatures who think that 2 people's opinion doesnt count, but i have told my friends and my friends have told their friends so you can not keep treating people like this because people will not return or even bother going to restuarants like this.

RUDEST WAITSTAFF!!
We booked a table at M on the Point for a friends 23rd Birthday and I have never been so embarassed by my choice of restaurant. This place was a joke from start to finish. I eat in restaurants alot and this is by FAR the worst dining experience I have ever had. Before we were even seated at our table I was ready to walk out due to the complete and utter rudeness of the staff and their complete disrespect.
The food was actually quite nice and the waitstaff sadly let down the chefs here. We were served by 3 different people, all of whom were rude, snobby and left our party group pretty annoyed with the whole experience.
The waitstaff were very sarcastic, unaccommodating and just downright rude. Which is sad because it is a nice looking restaurant in a nice location.
I will never eat here again and will reccommend others not to bother wasting their time or money

Sunday session is back in Mandurah!
The new M on the point is such a breath of fresh air for Mandurah. I have been on many occasion to enjoy the beautiful view and its special nights of half price dining on Wednesday and 10$ curry night on Tuesday. Every Sunday there is a fantastic band that has finally brought back the Sunday sesion to Mandurah. The staff are fantastic all really trying to offer service and something different to Mandurah - a smile! The food is great value for money, the pork roll is to die for and the pizzas you can tell have been made fresh with good quality ingredients. Its so nice to see some different beers in Mandurah, 3 different little creatures on tap is awesome. Both my friends and myself are so grateful to have a venue that is trying something different in this sleepy town!

3rd time lucky
Having been here 3 times now I feel warranted to rate this restaurant as simply awful. Each time the service has been apalling and the food is certainly not worth the money. First visit was marinated tuna salad, like canned tuna, not even the 'flavoured' variety, with lettuce and tomato. Next visit, we were told we had to wait half an hour before we could even submit our order. When we finally got our meal the chicken salad flavour was okay but the mayonaise absolutely smothered the entire meal and I was still very hungy after. Decided it may have been initial teething problems as they had not long been open so recently returned to "try again". We were told that our pizza topping could not come without the sausage as they are pre-made,which we thought for $19 was a pretty poor effort. Then our order was "lost", although it had gone through the electronic ordering system. Over an hour 1/2 later we finally got our meal. Oh, and the bar - what a treat. I virtually had the wine menu thrown in my face when I asked for the list. Overall food is terrible and service is too, which is a shame as it has all the potential to be fantastic. Wouldn't waste my time again!
