Great dinner!
I went to Lynch with my hubby for dinner on a busy Friday. Although the deco was bit old fashioned, the restaurant's atmosphere was nice and warm. The service was really proper and smooth. As I worked in the hospitality industry before, I was really impressed by the proper service! Why didn't we experience nice service in all restaurants?
The food was good, although some dishes were better than others. For entree, I had the rabbit broth (special of the day), which were rich, deep and luxurious. My hubby had baked oysters with leek cream and cheese, which were nice but not too special. We also got some mushroom broth as complimentary from the chef and it was really good!
For main, I ordered venison pie with baked fig and tiny amount of mashed potatoes. A very nice dish indeed. Really love the buttery pastry, the sweet gamy meat and the airy mashed potatoes! My hubby had the special of the day, waygu steak with chips and onion sauce ($55). Not to his standard since he thought the steak should stand out a bit more.
For desserts, I ordered the old-fashioned cream brulee with poached peach. Just so so. But my hubby had the best dessert we experienced sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce and prune & armagnac ice cream. A masterpiece! Really well done, the flavours combo is just out of this world. Note that the pudding was from the signature dish menu so next time I am just gonna stick to that menu!
Recommended for diners! Just try to leave some room for desserts. They are of large size in my opinion!
