Lure on Latrobe

Breezy breakfasts and languorous lunches are what this hidden Paddington gem does best. Though it's been open for a few years now, Lure on Latrobe has somehow maintained a low-key, relaxed vibe, even during busier periods. Perhaps it's the wide open courtyard that spills out from the cosy little cafe, replete with umbrellas, plants and a homely wooden deck. Or maybe it's the alluring brekkie fare such as the zucchini and haloumi fritters with poached eggs, or the creamed corn and polenta cake with smoked salmon and eggs. Whatever it is, Lure is a prime spot for a casual nosh, also making salads for lunch and cakes (including gluten-free) for afternoon bites. You may find yourself lured back to Latrobe Terrace for this one.

Not a bad little breakfast place
I am on a quest to find a breakfast place that is out of the box. Lure on La Trobe didn't achieve this, but the food was lovely and generously proportioned.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and well shaded (essential for outdoor dining) but the service lacked just a little. I'd booked a week before, and when we turned up, they didn't have a table for us which led to a 15 minute wait.

What was really nice though, was that it felt like the sort of place where you could linger all morning.
