Very disappointing experience
I went to L'unico with my family for my mothers birthday and was very disappointed as I had had a great experience once before. The light kept flickering on and off which was very annoying. We ordered a woodfired pizza to share for starters and it wasnt anything special. We waited an hour and a half for our main meals which was a let down. My mum ordered the chicken which was overcooked therefore really dry. My dad ordered the marinara pasta and there wasn't much seafood in it. My partner ordered the veal medallions wrapped in prosciutto, his meal was half the size of everyone elses and it looked like minute steak with bacon on top. I ordered the lamb shanks, to a positive note they were very tender and fell off the bone, unfortunately it tasted like it had been soaked in red wine and didn't have much flavour. The waiter was also quite rude when he knocked my mum's shoulder which caused her plate to fall on the ground in which he didnt even say sorry. Overall was a very disappointing experience and I would not recommend or go back again.

Great italian cuisine
From the moment we stepped in from the cold Canberra winter we were greeted by the warmth from the woodfired oven and a smell that really got the gastro juices flowing. The agliata (garlic bread) is highly recommended to warm the taste buds before the mains. Service was friendly, they seemed very busy as only 3 waitstaff were on for the entire restaurant, but nonetheless saw to it our needs were met. The lambshanks were my favourite main as was the calzone tropicana (caramelised banana with marscopone and almonds) for dessert. Ambience was real real world Italian, highly recommended.

I felt like I was back in Italy!
I've travelled the world and Lunicio's food is excellent, and inexpensive- just like the backstreet trattorias in italy! We enjoyed the pizza cook spinning his pizzas, and the guy running the place made us feel as 'regulars' on our first visit. Ohh the Tiramisu is his mum's recipe - best one I've ever had in my life. When in Canberra you must eat at Lunicio!!!

Traditional Italian in Kingston
This warm and inviting Italian restaurant has a traditional menu with something new for everyone.
The Agliata (garlic bread) is a must when you arrive. While the Mains were delicious, the servings were small and I was still hungry at the end of the meal. I recommend the homemade Veal Ravioli I had on my first visit a couple of months ago. There is a huge variety of gelato, but expect to spend $10 for two small scoops.
The atmosphere is great, but I wouldn't bring a pram on busy nights as the tables are very close together. We had to move to let people in and out.
I have been once before and the service was fine, and this night was very busy, but we waited a long time for drinks and for our dessert order to be taken. The wait staff were friendly, but we could have left at least an hour earlier if the service had been better.

Brilliant food, exceptional service
The team at Lunico provide as close to a true Italian cuisine as you will find. Coupled with their fantastic service, I would find it hard to go anywhere else. You just know what you are going to get everytime and you won't be disappointed. The banana calzone is a must.

Not a memorable experience
Over priced and overrated describes this restaurant! Food is completely average and expensive for the quality and size of the meal. After bruscetta and a main each we went home hungry! And to top it all off they tried to charge us $54 for a bottle of wine which was actually $42 on the menu! And no apology was made when the 'oversight' was identified to the waiting staff. Disgraceful service and overpriced food = sad night out in Kingston which has so much more to offer.

Oh my god!
Absolutely unbelievable food, the service was spectacular, and you are full and you just want to keep pumping more and more in. I must say i haven't had that experience ever in my life. I had several course in my meal, every single course was amazing. The food was hot and tasty and had the most amazing flavours. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is after the most gorgeous Italian food and atmosphere ever!

A strange mix
Looking at the place, L'unico is attractive. It looks smart, nice tableware, big space nothing else. The food may sound decent, but for how they talk themselves up, the flavours were stale.
