A review for vegies only... I am sure it's good for carnivores!
OK, so it was a special night to celebrate my French partner's birthday. I searched on this site to find a French restaurant that did good French food, with vegetarian options.
Turned up, not a great atmosphere it has to be said, more cafeteria than intimate location. Whatever, others there seemed to like it.
Asked for the menu, but there was nothing at all vegetarian. This has happened before in French restaurants, and there is always something on offer once you asked, as there was this time - a prawn salad without the prawns!!!
We were back in the 1970s guys; take the meat off and it's a vegie meal... yes, but not really a vegie option. The waiter was nice in a 'not very useful way', but still charged us for the aperitifs and sent us on our way to pay for a taxi back to our local French restaurant, which we should have stuck with in the first place.

Lovely restaurant
We have been here a few times when we have just craved a fantastic steak, chips (pomme frites!) and red wine. It is not for those on a tight budget, but the food is lovely and the service charming. One day we hope to leave enough room to try some of the cheeses for dessert!

That Extra Something
The food at L'Oustal has that extra subtlety which one searches for, but so seldom finds. You are truly getting good value in French food, as rather than trying to do anything too "look at me" clever, they simply create great flavours that do not bore the palate after a few mouthfuls.

An excellent choice, especially for those days when you are not quite sure what you want to eat but just want to have a dish take your fancy!
