In Greek mythology, Zephyr was the personification of the gentle west wind, and likewise the simple and honest fare at this addition to the Carlton North dining scene is more than likely to hit the palate softly, rather than blow you away with unnecessary pomp and circumstance.
Little Zephyr Kitchen offers a mix of pizza, tapas and Italian cuisine. Also on offer are kofte, Middle Eastern-spiced meatballs accompanied by pulses with that Italian foundation of many a dish, passata pomodoro (tomato sauce), as well as lighter dishes such as woodfired Atlantic salmon with honey-glazed vegetables. The food may appear simply constructed but it's all within keeping with the theme of this venue - after all, Zephyr also brought the spring rains which enabled the harvest to flourish.

Must go!
Went here for dinner on the weekend. Had a really great night. Don't think you can really go wrong here- the warmth, the funky yet unintimidating space and the food, yes the food... there's a genuine passion backed by talent in every dish, not to mention the absolute freshness and qualtiy of the produce. And what about the value for money...? Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

AMAZING!!
WOW!! Went here for a wine dinner for richmond plains organic winery.. 4 very impressive courses matched to 4 lovely organic wines. Very imformative night and met the chef later who is just as brilliant as the food she makes with all her heart. was so impressed went back a week later with a few friends... now they are as big a fan of katherine's food as me! From the delicate middle eastern tapas to the melt in your mouth quail to the 'I died and went to heaven' sticky date pudding, little zephyr is now a steadfast favorite of mine!
