Little Lygon

Love the lively vibe of Melbourne's Little Italy? Little Lygon is one of the strip's many little Italian treats, serving both traditional and modern meals to satiate the appetites of avid pasta, pizza, risotto, steak and seafood enthusiasts. Going totally Mediterranean, this friendly dining spot boasts a vibrant alfresco area out the front, with candles on every table, and a big red marquee overhead for shelter. If the sound of chilli mussels, lasagne or linguine rocks your boat, then Little Lygon has much to offer.

A true disappointment
I chose Little Lygon for dinner with three of my girlfriends a couple of weeks ago and let me say that we were all sorely disappointed. Firtsly, the service was appalling, the wait for out food (over 45 minutes in a restaurant that wasn't even one quarter full)was intolerable and the food was barely palatable. Two of my friends ordered steak (medium rare) and received well-done steaks full of gristle and fat. I ordered quail which was served to me cold, bland and overcooked on a bed of oily beans which had texture that I have never experienced before (not pleasant). Factor in that fcat that we all paid well over $30 for our plates and I'm sure you can understand the title of my review.

In short... Don't bother!!!
