Stepping up a notch, Calibre Cafe and Bar has undergone a reinvention since its old days as Lisboa Cafe and Bar, still located next to the cinema complex in Woden. Even while the high-roofed interiors and spacious table areas remain the same, the new feel is more intimate and ambient, with spruced-up modern decor such as funky red cylindrical lampshades hovering above diners' heads. The menu has retained many of the old Lisboa favourites, dabbling in mod-Oz cuisine with a sprinkle of European magic, as with the fondly adored Portuguese barbecued chicken, available in lemon and herb, mild or hot style. Pizzas, salads, sandwiches, burgers, nachos, paellas and seafood dishes also keep the calibre high.

The chichen - oh my God, so good!
We had dinner and the food was great. My partner's pasta was not hot when it reached the table, but it still tasted good. The Portuguese chicken is oh my god, so damn good. I would have to say it is the best Portuguese food in Canberra. We have tried others and they don't come close. The staff were friendly enough, but it would be nice to eat out and have real smiles. The other customers were nice and it has a good atmosphere (just don't like people looking over the top that are walking in and out of the plaza). We will be back cos the food is very good, just wish it had a better location.

Love It!
Lisboa is one of my local cafes and I love the food, atmosphere and the friendly staff. The caramel lattes are great and the coconut rough is a touch of paradise.

When I was in Canberra last, I came into this cafe and the service was absolutely delightful. There was this waitress there who was very attentive and really helpful with everything. She had a very out-there hairstyle, and I believe she would be an asset to any business. Overall, my experience at Lisboa was a very pleasant one. Thank you.
