Lil Kitch makes a big impression on the bustling Moonee Ponds scene, where it is always the busiest place on the block come lunch o'clock. The interior also defies the 'lil' tag with spacious warm orange decor, brick walls and a slick glass frontage giving way to social kerbside seating.
Local workers scramble for fresh focaccias, pizzas, parmas, pastas, curries and sumptuous pastries. Toasted waffles and other tasty morning choices such as the 'Lil Kitch original' (fried or scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, sauteed mushrooms, spinach and chargrilled sausage on chunky toast) make this place a top weekend breakfast destination too.
There's a decent wine list featuring more than 30 varieties (including 14 by the glass), which is ideal for lunchtime entertaining, but the cafe is also a great place to stop by for a simple coffee and cookie fix. Lil Kitch's Segafredo coffee made Crema Magazine's Melbourne's top coffees list, where its smooth, rich blend was voted the best on Puckle Street.

Terrible service
This cafe had reasonably good food. However it was ruined by the worst waitress i have ever encountered. There were 6 of us in hoping to have a late lunch at 3pm. As she looked at us then her watch she led us to a table that we had to put together ourselves. And as she cleaned the table she didn't care if she was hitting us in the fce, not only that but she practically threw glass to the table for our water. Awful Awful place to relax and have a lat lunch on a sunday afternoon. she ruined my day and i will never go back there.

The best eggs in Puckle Street!
Dainty eggs benedict with velvety hollandaise. Good service, great atmosphere, friendly staff and always plenty of newspapers!
