Lighthouse Restaurant

Beginning its reign as a dining establishment in the 1800s, you get the feeling that the spirits of many a chef haunt this kitchen, whispering advice in the ears of the new owners. And their guidance seems to be working. The seafood-rich menu nicely complements the restaurant's breezy, relaxed atmosphere. Perched right on the ocean's edge at Morton Bay, you have the option of dining inside or enjoying the salt spray outside. If the sheltered verandah is not outdoorsy enough for you (or if the thought of ghosts is a little too spooky), they also run a very convenient take-away service.

a night to remember
Wow! I own a restaurant, so I have big expectations of restaurants as I believe we're all here to serve customers and delight them with our gifts, whether its on the floor or in the kitchen. I was really surprised to see that this particular restaurant pulled off both aspects with great style and grace. I felt at home, but also as if on holiday with the staff treating me like a person not a number, and the view was as if i were on an island resort, beautiful as the sun was going down. Around six would be the perfect time to join the Lighthouse for dinner for a light meal or snack before the view takes you away and you have somehow finished a bottle of white and are looking hungrily at all the prawn dishes (slightly angry there are so many and they all sound as good as each other) but comforted that what ever you pick you will be so so happy. Dessert isn't really necessary, but if you like to indulge in rich desserts then go go go girl friend. This place is one of the best, I highly recommend it to any one. It is definitely taking Queensland to 2009 in food instead of 1992 where the other restaurants have been left.

Very satisfied
I live in the Northern suburbs so the trip out to Cleveland was a doozy, but in the end I'd say it was well worth the drive. The seafood dish was well presented and had a lot of variety. The prices were high, but quite normal considering the amount of seafood on offer. I'd rate this as one of my more enjoyable visits to a restaurant recently and I'd definitely plan on visiting again (even with the 45min drive!). The view from the balcony is amazing, too.

Special Occasion Forgotten
I booked a table via the online booking service provided by the restaurant, advising it was my Mothers 60th birthday and was not contacted about our booking. A couple of days later I followed up, and they had not received the booking so I booked a table over the phone. I advised the person on the phone that it was a special occasion, my Mothers 60th birthday, and that I would like a nice table. Upon arrival I handed the host a packet of sparklers and asked if they could be put on my Mother s dessert. We then had a choice of table, inside or out. The meals we considered to be overpriced, scallops were small in size. When we ordered dessert to our surprise no sparklers were in the dessert. I asked the waitress if she had forgotten the sparklers and she replied yes and that she could start all over again ! The family was quite dissatisfied with this service considering we had advised the restaurant on three times that we were there for a special occasion. We would not rate this restaurant as one of the best in Cleveand.
