For honest food and genuine service, head down Hawthorn way to Liar, Liar. The cafe is the brainchild of Diamond Rozakeas, Nathan Toleman and Nolan Hirte, who built the cafe themselves from Toleman's design. Together with chef Mike McKenzie they have created a beautiful little establishment, which is as eclectic as the folk who drop in. The menu is comprised of hearty cafe fare, from French toast to pizzas and pastries, but particular attention must be drawn to the eggs, with the highlight being the 'Liar, Liar scramble', made with fresh spinach, tofu, olives, feta and a squeeze of lemon. As for the coffee - well, Nolan is a former WA barista champion.

Great Food!
This would have to be one of my favourite breakfast spots in Melbourne. The food is superb especially the coffee!
It is very popular and can get very busy (may even need to wait for the table). During those times, it can take a while for the food to come out but it is definitely worth the wait!
Try the pea fritters.
