Lentil as Anything is a non-profit organisation, serving up a little moral lesson with every plate of vegetarian cuisine. With several offshoots around the city, many Melburnians are already familiar with Lentil's eclectic philosophy but, for those who aren't, the idea is that diners tuck into a good meal and then pay what they think the food is worth. Aside from offering an excuse for a little introspection and social commentary, the restaurant is also popular for their international vegetarian and vegan meals. These might range from a tofu burger to a Sri Lankan curry or a Moroccan hotpot.

Disappointed
Great to be able to help yourself to the buffet. But disappointed it was all barely luke warm, more on the cold side. Granted we had lunch at 1.45pm but they should keep the lids closed on the food servers to keep the heat in. Maybe it would be better right on 12pm. Great concept though. And credit to all staff.

Absolutely LOVED it!!!!
Went there on Wednesday night with a friend, was a full buffet and we helped ourselves to a hefty large plate worth of different curries and deliciousness.
There were people playing drums when we arrived which was absolutely amazing. Everyone looked like they were having a great time and genuinely loving being there.
We had someone offer us a beer while we ate and were able to have a good chat and great food. What more can you ask for?!
Will DEFINITELY be coming back!

Relaxing atmosphere, great food
A friendly, relaxing place tucked away in the backstreets of Abbotsford. Even on a sunny Sunday, parking was a short stroll however $2 parking is available across the road. Good menu for lunch and dinner, however very sparse choice of breakfast dishes, given Abbotsford are the only Lentil As Anything to serve breakfast. Didn't stop me wanting to try everything - oh and must try the Chai tea. Bottled drinks you pay a set price however everything else is up to you. Ensure you have change on you (or do what I did and buy something from the Convent Bakery just around the corner). When it comes to paying, just place what amount you think your meal was worth in the locked box inside. No questions and very unconfronting. Staff are extremely friendly and I like the sound of a hug at the start and end of every shift. Will be coming back again.
