Not quite a stock-standard Thai, this award-winning Canberra establishment continues to deliver in spades. From deep-fried treasure bag pastries filled with minced chicken, coconut, corn and water chestnuts, to prawns in sour lime sauce, garlic and fresh chilli with salad, to red curry duck with lychees and tomatoes, this long-stayer keeps it sweet, sour and spicy all around.

Good food, good price, don't go for the service
I've been visiting Canberra and eaten here twice. Both occasions I'd have to say the food was very good. Also impressed with the prices. However the service was slow and difficult to get the attention of staff without having to climb out your chair or hail across the restaurant. Would go back for take away next time

Average
Quite a let down for us. Firstly this is not your typical authentic Thai restaurant setup - it is more fusion (Thai mixed with Western) to me. We had the combination starter, despite the very small portion, the taste was bland. The fish cake, the curry puff and etc didn't have much taste. We ordered 3 dishes - seafood green curry wasn't good, it was not thick enough and didn't taste like green curry to me. On another note, their coconut rice and the marinated pork was good, kinda offset the not so good bit.

Best Thai Restaurant in Canberra
I highly recommend Lemongrass Thai in Civic. Canberra is sorely short of high-quality Thai restaurants, and this restaurant helps to fill the gap. For duck lovers, the duck nam toc is excellent - a wonderful duck salad full of real Thai flavour and texture. This salad is perfect when accompanied by coconut rice. The black sticky rice dessert is also recommended.
