At this very classy, rustic country restaurant, the dining room comes complete with grand piano, high ceilings showing off exposed beams and a big open fireplace for cooler weather. And with a private airstrip on the property, you can indulge without the driving time.
Be sure to try the famous WA marron that is done particularly well here. The fresh crayfish is delicately chargrilled before being drizzled with XO butter, topped with finely julienned fresh ginger, wok-tossed gai lan and baby corn and finished with some fresh lime.

Stretch lunch
A 30th birthday took us to Leeuwin Estate and it didn't disappoint. The balcony setting was lovely and the service attentive all the way through. Start at the cellar door to work out your choice of wine for lunch and then walk through. I would definitely recommend a "flight" where they match four wines to a mouthful of four of their spectacular dishes. Meals were beautifully presented.
