Cottage contentment
From the moment we walked in we could both tell this place was special. We were seated by a big velvet draped window in the cosy front room. A recording of Edith Piaf was playing. The food complemented the atmosphere of this beautiful cottage perfectly. As we perused the menu we enjoyed the complimentary spicy cheese biscuits, crisp bread-rolls, and chilli marinated olives. As vegetarians, the options for entree and main were limited, but the waiters and chef were very accommodating. We shared a spicy eggplant dish with yogurt and crispbread to start, before moving onto a gruyere cheese souffle with boiled vegetables and a rocket salad. For dessert we shared a malt creme brulee with citrus icecream. In short, yum! Every dish was carefully considered for optimal enjoyment. The little touches make all the difference - sweet biscuits for mopping up the last little morsels of brulee. The presentation was immaculate and striking and the serving sizes just right - perfect for sharing on a romantic night out! We'll be back next time we are in Hobart!!
