Bizarre but good
Firstly, regarding Brunette's bizarre service experience, I bet you failed to say hello and act friendly to the boss - he's an eccentric fellow but if he likes you you will get delicious healthy perfectly cooked Lebanese food. Some say the customer is king but here it's a little unresolved. By the way, there IS wheelchair access downstairs.

This is not a Lebanese Restaurant
The Lebanese House should not be allowed to use that name... this is not Lebanese food. The atomsphere is terrible, old fashion, the smell of burnt oil. The labne was not labne but yogurt served with something yellow which is not olive oil. Kafta are made of bad bolognese compacted (very hard) in square!!! served with completely uncooked potatoes!!! Tabboule is cut in big pieces. If you are looking for the Lebanese taste: you will not find it there. All this is simply a shame to Lebanese refinement. Our worst food experience in years.

Bizarre service (or lack of it!)
I have to say that today the service (or rather lack of it) was about the worst I have ever experienced in Australia. It was quite incredible. I had never been to Lebanese House, but had often passed it, and as I generally love Mediterranean, Turkish cuisine etc, thought I would try a Lebanese restaurant. I booked a table for lunch today (Thursday 8 Feb) for myself and 2 friends as I did not know how busy the place would get. When I arrived for lunch it was empty except for a table of 4 guys, and I was told to sit anywhere. My friend arrived about 5 minutes later, during which time I wasn't given a menu or asked if I wanted to order a drink. Once my friend arrived we were ignored for a further 15 minutes, during which time a couple arrived and were immediately served with the utmost attentiveness. Eventually the waiter deigned to come over, but instead of acknowledging us, he merely placed 2 menus on the empty table next to us and walked off! We thought it very rude and quite odd, but since we were so hungry, gave the benefit of the doubt and thought that an explanation or apology would soon be forthcoming. However, this did not occur, and after another 10 minutes of being ignored we decided to go elsewhere.
