With a fresh lick of paint and a new energy in the kitchen, what was once the old site of Chai Yo is now the sleek and inviting le Lerd.
The menu shares some similarities with the predecessor, but the standard of quality is leagues ahead. Expect the usual Thai classics to be well represented, but there are rich rewards to be had for those willing to stray into the unknown. Try the signature Grandma Grand Master nam prik ong, a fiery northern Thai-style stir-fry with minced pork and sticky rice topped with a boiled egg and a palate-cleansing salad.
