Entertaining
I had stumbled upon le classic so didn't know much about the restaurant when I went there last saturday night. What a surprise to find can can dancers and live music! The atmosphere was fun and there seemed to be alot of b'day dinnners, great venue for a party. The food was fine, had eye fillet with peppercorn sauce and vegggies. Portion sizes are considerable, really didn't need the side order of fries. Whilst I wouldn't be rushing back for the food, I definitely would if I was looking for an uniquely entertaining night out.

Highly disappointing
My husband and I have been to Le Classic 3 times in the past 18 months; the first 2 times we were most impressed with the food, service and ambience. However our 3rd visit with a friend visiting from London was most disappointing and embarassing, and as a result we will not be returning again.

1. We had an 8.30pm booking and were encouraged by the staff member who took our reservation to come at 8pm (which we did) as "there's a family with 2 children booked in at 6.30pm for your table and they will be gone by then". Ok, so they weren't gone by 8pm, however it wasn't until 9pm (half an hour after our actual reservation) that any table in the restaurant became free. We were offered complimentary champagne while we waited, and chairs (which is something - it still doesn't make up for bad planning however!).

2. My husband ordered salmon and he was served duck.

3. When his salmon finally arrived (10 minutes after everyone else's mains) it was undercooked in the middle. We politely asked the waitress to let the chef know. We were offered the option of having the salmon cooked again (which we expected in the very least, however my husband had lost his appetite by then).

4. There were communication difficulties with the waitress with dessert-ordering. After about 5 minutes of explanation, and a few trips back and forth from the kitchen for her, the dessert request (which was very simple - 3 scoops of the strawberry sorbet please, instead of 3 scoops of different flavours) actually came out correctly, to our surprise.

5. When we went to pay, they could not find any record of our bill so we had to recite what we had ordered.

We were so disappointed as we loved that restaurant!

Memorable meal
My family took me to Le Classic for my birthday and a classic time was had by all.

It was a fairly quiet night (that could be because it was State of Origin night) but the staff were friendly amd attentive and the meals superb. We have been before on the weekend and enjoyed the live entertainment, but this evening was a lovely quiet meal in a pleasant friendly atmosphere.

The boutique attached to the restuarant is a very pleasant distraction between courses.

It wasn't a cheap meal but we were feeding 4 adults and the bottle of French champange helped contribute to the cost. We did get some nice little treats (i.e. a birthday profiterole) and a dessert wine.

Whilst my teenagers would not try the snails (ew gross Mum) they were very satisfied with their duck dishes and desserts. The snails were quite tasty.

A memorable meal and we'll be back (sans enfant maybe).

Disappointed with second visit
My husband and I had been to this restaurant before on a Wednesday night which was not as busy as this time.
The service was definitely not as impressive as last time and the food was VERY disappointing.
The first visit I had exactly the same main however, the meat was nowhere near as tender and the presentation was not very impressive.
We will not return!

Not so classic
The food was not as good as I'd heard, especially the main meal. I was a bit disappointed. The best thing about the place was the atmosphere.

A Classic in the Suburbs
Have been there twice now for dinner and think the food is very good but perhaps lacks variety. The service is also good and the manager always tries to look after patrons which is a nice change to other places. Perhaps not a top-notch Fri or Sat night dinner venue but on the money for a quiet mid-week dinner out. Nice little shop next door for ladies clothes and jewellery (my fiance loves it).
