Thank goodness for dingy little wine bars like Le Chifley; in a city where stylised pricey booze havens are the norm, it's of great comfort to know there's still somewhere you can order a jug of goon and giant bowl of nachos in the heart of the CBD. Located inconspicuously in the tiny Chifley Arcade and decked out like a back-alley Parisian bistro - replete with old carpet, wall maps, 1950s-style benches and pre-loved wooden stools - this locals bar serves hot pub-style food, from the humble steak sandwich to a saffron risotto. The prices are excellent, hence the loyal clientele.
