Le Chien

With a massive mural dominating one wall, bistro chairs and a slightly rustic feel, Le Chien is an arty, bohemian-style cafe. Although they have extended their hours to include dinner five nights a week, their breakfasts remain the highlight. The otherwise European menu has a bit of a Scottish influence, so don't be surprised to see black pudding or homemade Scottish oatcakes on the menu. The lunch and dinner menu ranges from casual cafe favourites to classic European meals, including a few Frenchie nibbles to satisfy those who were lured by the Gallic name.

The best toast ever
The double shot lattes at Le Chien are always fantastic but a special mention goes to the chargrilled sourdough with fetta, basil and tomatoe as it is always a winner (a bit more basil sometimes would be great thanks).I will keep going back but my one little criticism is sometimes some of the staff can be a bit aloof & I love friendly staff with my food and atmosphere.

Food was great
Food was great - although the service wasn't.
Waitress had an attitude, no smile, no hi how are you?...nothing. The forgot our coffees. Food had arrived but our coffees were still MIA.Finally got them once I asked for them.

Service with a scowl
It's a pity that the service here is so rude and lacking in personality as the food is quite good. My partner's glass was dirty and the waitress had what seemed to be an attitude of she would rather be anywhere else (if so, don't work in customer service). Not going back as felt like our patronage was more of a hinderance rather than anything else.

Memorable food
Have eaten their twice recently. Both times the food was excellent. The haloumi fritters rock! The avocado and tomato with parsley and lemons juice on sourdough was very tasty. Best coffee in Seddon, (have tried coffee and three other places so far and Le Chien still wins). Service can be a bit patchy, but other than that, a great brekky, brunch, lunch place.
