This tiny bolt hole of a cafe has swiftly become a local favourite and a poorly kept secret among the West Hobart latte set. One can hardly blame those loose-lipped fans for spreading the word; cafes such as this deserve all the publicity they can get. The tables are often packed with satisfied brunchers, tucking into dishes made with mostly organic, local produce, such as scrambled eggs with buttered leeks or French toast with caramelised orange and organic maple syrup.

Unpretentious and very good
I practically live here lately. The coffee is excellent, the food is consistently very very good and the service is mostly excellent. No wonder it's become a casual and regular haunt for those people in the area who appreciate good, fresh and imaginative food. And there are lots who travel from well outside the area to indulge themselves here. Good value and friendly "real" staff.

Appalling service and very disappointing food
Just confirmed our opinion of Lansdowne Cafe on the second attempt. Very slow service, at times abrupt and even rude. Food was very disappointing and coffees ordered before food didn't arrive until after the meal, which was itself slow. I love slow food but only when what you're served is good.
Stay clear of the very bland "organic fruit and nut muesli" which is rolled oats with a smattering of sultanas and sunflower seeds but not a single nut in sight.
Will definitely not return.

A Wonderful Cafe to have a Leisurely Brunch
The staff were very attentive and the food was wonderful. The food came out in quick time for such a busy cafe. If you are going to this Cafe on a weekend you must book as it is very popular. They also cater to families as they have colouring books and pencil there for the children.

Great little place
I had a lovely breakfast.... but the girls behind the counter just talked and talked - my coffee took over 15mins. I really felt like they let the chef down as his food was lovely. Being ignored for girly talk is really annoying guys but I will be back.
