Whether it's tapas tidbits or momentous mains you're after, La Zarzuela provides both dining experiences in one Spanish and continental haven. One of Willoughby Road's gems, this restaurant offers a place to enjoy a glass of wine with a quick bite of a chorizo sausage or a taste of a Spanish potato onion omelette. Such tapas treats might make for light snacks, good starters or even part of a selection of tapas for a whole meal, but the fish, veal, chicken, steak and pork mains are hard to go past too. The Zarzuela de Mariscos seafood platter for two is perhaps the most robust offering, featuring mussels, prawns, blue swimmer, calamari, fish pieces with tomato, onion, garlic, white wine and chilli.

Dinner
Being led upstairs in a restaurant like this is always a bad sign, very easily forgotten or neglected. Meatballs were great, scallops were over cooked and in a gluggy sauce which wasn't a particularly nice end to a very average meal. I was looking forward to this restaurant and left more than disappointed.
