After a few years in the dark, La Suprema has finally turned its lights back on for the people of Hobart. From its re-emergence in January, 2009, this popular evening eatery brings back that old feeling of a home-style Italian trattoria. The pastas are still made from scratch, including the ravishing raviolis. The veal dishes are also highlights, especially the puttanesca and Dijon styles. There's nothing like a fresh, home-cooked meal, and that's one of La Suprema's key strengths.

Average Italian
This was recommended by a friend but I was a bit disappointed. The food was quite good without being outstanding; the prices were very reasonable and the service was very, very friendly and fast. For me though the food was a very "Australian-ised" version of real Italian.

There is very good Italian food in Hobart!!
Coming from France (Grenoble, not far from the Italian borderline) we had to spent more than a week in Hobart before continuing our travel. Being far from home we were looking of some food which tastes like "at home". After some deceptions we found la Suprema to which we were twice this week. We had Fetuchini, Lasagne and Ravioli. All was of excellent taste and really like in Italy ! The only thing which seemed very Australian to us was the amount they serve, this is really really a lot for our habits. But anyway, if you feel again a bit hungry after the main course, no problem their Tiramisu is delicious!
