Located in the Strand Arcade, this contemporary pizzeria and liqueur bar now has the Pendolino peeps bookending Sydney's famous shopping arcade.
Like an estranged married couple perched at opposite ends of a gargantuan Victorian-era table, La Rosa stares at big sister Pendolino across the void of the second level of the Strand. Its layout follows a loosely similar pattern to the one that has seen the original become such a success: an inviting entrance that effortlessly flows into a sleek and intimate interior. Framed by an elevated herb garden and an awning dripping with intimate candles and wrought-iron candelabras, La Rosa's predominantly red and black decor draws inspiration from Gothic churches and medieval architecture.
On the food front, expect Pendolino's signature brand of Italian-style pizzas supplemented by a short, sharp list of Neapolitan leaning share plates. Similarly, the wine list stays true to La Rosa's roots, proffering a list of mostly Italian varietals to go along with the impressive display of traditional liqueurs.
