Lovely surprise
I went here on Saturday morning/afternoon with my family after hearing from a friend that Laporchetta did breakfast on weekends. Well, we were very surprised. The food was delicious, the Laporchetta big breakfast had a little bit of everything and was very reasonably priced for what we got! The coffee was also great, not burnt like other places we have tried in tuggeranong. They also had great lunch time special burgers which were tasty and fresh, I had the peri peri chicken burger and it was great. My daughter ordered the salt and pepper squid salad which was very tasty. All the staff were cheery and helpful, we will definitely be back!!

Diamond in the Rough
I recently dined at LaPorchetta Tuggeranong with 4 other friends, and was pleasantly surprised after hearing mixed reviews. The service was fantastic even though it was very busy. We were welcomed by friendly staff who looked happy and did their best to ensure we were well accommodated. The food was brilliant, well worth the money, great value and big sizes. The pizza (large Mexican) was the best I've had in canberra, the salami was hot and the pizza was fresh. We also had a brushetta which was very fresh, a marinara pasta which was good, canneloni, pollo funghi penne and chicken parmigiana. The canneloni tasted fresh and home cooked, the pasta's were both great, and big portion sizes and the chicken parmigiana was big portion for a great price and with sides! Definitely good value here! The staff were great, and kept coming back to check on us, offering us more drinks and deserts. The atmosphere is great, as they have recently renovated the restaurant and it is much smaller now we were told, it was clean and provided a really great ambiance for my friends and I. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to families, young couples and groups of friends! Definitely a great find for the Tuggeranong area!

Crappy service
I recently went to the Tuggeranong restaurant, There were 6 of us 2 were small children 4 and 5. We ordered drinks , ONE garlic focaccia between us all and each of us ordered a main meal all this was done at the same time. Because we ordered ONE focaccia between us all to start with our mains got put on hold for so long we waited an hour for our main meal and it wasn't until we noticed every one else was getting served that came in after us that we questioned it, seems our meals had been pushed to the back of the orders all because we ordered ONE focaccia between us all to start with. Instead of the staff trying to remedy the problem they just argued with us and said they were busy which was ridiculous when we arrived there was barely anyone there and those that were were already eating. We have been great fans of La Porchetta and regularly went to the greensborough one in melbourne and they were always fantastic no matter how busy they were, moving to Canberra we thought we would go somewhere that we knew the service would be great, the waitress was so grumpy and never smiled needless to say everyone was the same, I think the thing that really insulted us was when one of the waitresses asked if we would like anything else thinking we had already eaten. Also after over an hour of waiting our meals still weren't done so we left and went somewhere else. My views on La Porchetta have not changed for the Melbourne one we used to go to but I would definitely not be going back to the Tuggerannong based one and sadly I found out they were the only one in the ACT, the customer service was rubbish I have worked in several cafes and restaurants and can say the way they handled the situation was poor there were so many alternatives to the situation but they had to argue and make up excuses for an issue that was clearly their fault. We ended up eating at KFC we got there at 6.40 left at 8pm, crap!!!!

Great food, reasonable prices
I have eaten out a lot in the last few months and I have to say La Porchetta keeps me coming back and now that the management has changed - even better. I always leave satisfied. The staff are friendly and the food is simple but good. It must be good cos I keep going back.

Very ordinary
I know this is a chain style place... but that's not really an excuse for the pretty bad food and grumpy owner. The food was bland at best and when the 'boss' (as he was referred to by our waiter) short changed us when we paid the bill (and we picked up on it) he was very rude - like it was our fault!

There's certainly an opening for a great restaurant in Tuggeranong
but La Porchetta doesn't make the grade. You may as well go to the food hall and it may be cleaner. Sticky grotty floors and tables couldn't really make up for the friendly greeting we received from the service staff. Whilst the menu sounded tempting, the food was overcooked and gluggy.
To top it off we were slugged top rate for credit card payment so if you feel the need to eat here - be sure to take cash. Oh, and don't try and question their "policy" or you will be soundly abused by the management for your efforts.
