Known (and loved) for its generous servings of traditional Italian meals, La Lucciola is a popular preshow spot for moviegoers heading to the nearby Como cinema. It's not fine dining, but they're not fine dining prices either, and the space is warm and welcoming, with dark wooden furniture and a bustling atmosphere. The homemade gnocchi is one of the most popular menu options, as is the veal scaloppine. The wine list offers plenty of local and imported wines by the glass and bottle, making it a place where couples, singles and families can grab a quiet meal and a glass of wine on weeknights.

La Lucciola's Gnocchi Rocks!!!
I have been a fan of La Lucciola for 20 years! Their home-made Gnocchi seriously rocks. It was only ever available on a Friday night (in the old days), but due to popular demand is now available every day - you should try it, if you haven't already!

If you want raw meatballs eat here!
How dissapointing that yet another, 'once great little Melbourne resteraunt' is no longer that! After being o/s for a year I could not wait to come home to Melbourne to La lucciola for some great pasta, oh boy was I in for a shock. I ordered the 'special', Spaghetti meatballs, my husband the lasagna, my sister the tuna salad and her husband some vegetarian pasta dish. I have never seen bigger meatballs in my life (way to large) and as I took a bite they were raw inside. My husbands lasagna tasted like it was one of those frozen meals. Lift your game La lucciola, I thought they served food bad in the states.

Seriously Italian
Really warm yummy food at good prices, this little Italian Gem is special and unique. They serve great soup and HUGE bowls of authentic satisfying pasta - basically anything you want - they have. Perfect on a winter night in Melbourne.
