Good food but service needs improvement
The food was great and the service was initially very good but slacked off later ie. dirty plates not cleared away, water glasses not topped up for ages etc.

A reasonably priced restaurant in a great location
This is a very handy restaurant for a good quality meal. The risotto and fish of the day meals I've had have been tasty and they cater for Gluten-Free and food allergies. The balcony atmosphere along the Yarra river is really lovely. I have been back so many times that I now have a local membership card and get frequent discounts. They also have a good lunch menu and specials on offer throughout the week.

mmmmm!
mmmmm - u do get what you pay 4. We walked in 4 an unbooked dinner b4 the White Album Concert, looking for a quick bowl of pasta & a glass of wine. We were quickly shunted to the bar "for 10 minutes" - this was ok, as we perused the menu over a PDD (however this had to be paid 4 b4 leaving the bar - which was a bit off putting. However, the waiter was back in 10 & we were ushered to a table located like an islet in a torrent (waiters & customers were moving in both directions all the time - at pace). We settled in a chose the sardine, & Italian sausage pasta & the bread/oil combo, & allowed the buzz to carry us along. The food was quickly presented, along with another glass of excellent Heathcote red. This is when the mantra kicked in - the pasta, although a perfect portion, lacked any real flavour which left us a disappointed. We agreed as we left, after paying a $65 bill, it is just a place for a quick bite on the way to somewhere else - much like most of the other SB restaurants.
