Perfection on a plate
La Brasserie offered us an exquitite sample of how good food can be when it comes straight from its French roots.
We loved every bite. And beyond the food, we loved the cool service and the elegant setting that we were provided.

French Heaven
Having google searched for French restaurants in the city who serve escargot, we were directed to la Brasserie.
The waiter who greeted us was a wealth of knowledge about the menu and all night mad us feel at home.
We took a moment to pick our meals and from there, were in the capable hands of the lovely staff - all with French accents, proving authenticity further.
The food was so, so good. If only our stomachs were larger, we'd have ordered two of everything.
The atmosphere is charming and seductive. I'd recommend this for a great romantic night.

truely beautiful food
We wanted a slice of France for a weekend away and were pointed to la Brasserie. It was everything that we hoped for and more. From the doorway, to the music, to the menu we were reminded of our wonderful time in Paris.
The escargot was a first for my wife and I and it exceeded my expectations from friends who have promoted how good they can be. We also had a charcuterie plate as an entr?e and shared both dishes.
My wife found a wine on the menu which she had only ever heard of the grapes for and wanted to see what the hype was for and we polished off the bottle along with their scrumptious food.
Our main meals were the cassoulet and a goat and couscous dish with some Moroccan flavours. Both very hearty country flavours that made us want more. So mouth-watering and delectable.
We are due to return here when we are next in Sydney - it is just that good.

A taste of Paris in Darlinghurst
There is a very impressive menu that would please all tastes! Equally impressive wine list. Atmosphere captures the feel of a typical bistro in Paris. We loved the food, it was presented well and tasted great! The pate deserves a special mention as does the goats cheese souffle. The restaurant was overall very good. I felt that the wait staff needed to be more attentive - particularly towards the end of the evening when patrons want to get the bill and leave. We were more or less abandoned after our mains were cleared so it was a bit of a struggle to maintain the great service we received at the beginning of the night. The restaurant wasn't full and when we eventually left we walked outside to find a couple of the wait staff (one possibly a owner/manager) having a cigarette while checking out the passing traffic! I guess on reflection it really was a typical French experience! I'll certainly go back to this place, the food really is very good.
