The Barossa has a strong German heritage running through its veins, which shall remain strong as long as places such as the Krondorf Road Cafe exist. Ingrid Glastonbury is a descendant of the original German settlers and brings to the kitchen some traditional recipes made with local produce and home-grown vegetables and herbs. A favourite is the free-range chicken fried with bacon and served with cucumber and cream salad and roast potatoes. Husband Richard designed the cafe himself, utilising the best possible vantage points to capture stunning views of the Barossa Valley. Outside there are plenty of grassy areas to digest in peace or let the kids run off any excess energy, and upstairs is a quaint art gallery well worth a look. All this is, of course, topped off with a selection of the estate's own Kabminye Wines available straight from the cellar.
