Huge Fun
We were in Melborne for the tennis over the weekend and took the opportunity to catch up with Melbourne friends for dinner. We booked Kouzina and although it was a bit difficult to find once we were there we had a wonderful time. The food was lovely and the service was terrific. Ours was not the only noisy table and the atmosphere was tremendous fun. So you wouldn't want a romantic dinner a deux there but for a great time catching up with friends it couldn't have been better. We will certainly go back the next time we are in Melbourne.

Disappointing dining
Wonderful view of the city, but unfortunately the food was not very good. I ordered the lemon lamb, one of the most expensive dishes on the menu. It came out to the table within minutes of being ordered, was cool in the middle and could not have been freshly cooked - there was not enough time. The waiters were efficient but not overly friendly.

Great local spot
We also went to the one at Doncaster - absolutley spectacular views of the city skyline, even more glorious at sunset. It was practically full but our orders and plates were taken efficiently and our meals never took more than 20mins to arrive each time. The food is decent, nothing spectacular but good enough for a casual bite.
I agree that the saganaki definitely does not need the Metaxa. Decent sized servings - dessert platter is quite substantial.

Modern Greek or just a modern restaurant.
Perched high with commanding views located in the very new and modern Doncaster shopping centre.
We haven't been to the sister restaurant in Southbank so the comments will be central to this one.
Service was way too slow, funny about that, as there were ample staff to cater for a full house. What do you have to do to get a pre dinner drink?
When the food (starters) finally arrived, we watched our waiters nearly burn themselves while lighting up a saganaki platter (what for??) it gave no effect, just a scare. Food overall was good but definitely not "Modern Greek" more like your good old average tavern. Good fish platter and good meat platter.
The service was efficient albeit a bit slow and the atmosphere, well like I said, it has great views, but most food courts in shopping centres high on hills do!!
