Down the west end of Gouger Street away from the Chinatown crowds sits Kopi Tim, which has quietly been serving up Malaysian food to a growing base of customers for years now. Those in the know go for the Hainanese chicken rice or the fish head curry, for which Kopi Tim is known. The laksas, which are on special at lunchtime, are also popular, and are a good option for a quick, cheap lunch. Decorated basically and with no bells or whistles, this place serves up good, no frills quick eats.
