Brisbane's best kept Japanese secret
This is a gem of a restaurant - family run, authentic family food and great value. Also BYO. The restaurant is not often busy, but is rarely empty. No children's menu, but the food is very child-friendly. We travel to Japan often, and this restaurant stays true to typical Japanese family food. The menu is not big, but the food is always fresh - highly recommend the sashimi, chicken karaage and tempura. Not sophisticated - simple food, welcoming service - just what you want from your local restaurant.

Real Japanese fair at a great price!
Third time to our new favourite Japanese restaurant! It's strangely situated above an IGA in a busy intersection in 'The Gap' on Brisbane's northside.
There is plenty of parking and the service is extremely attentive not to mention you never have to wait too long for your meals.
The homely decor and accessibility of the meals (not too weird) makes this an ideal family restaurant. The prices are great (for what you get remembering Japanese people like their meat and there is a healthy serve in each meal)
It is 'as the previous reviewer stated' not all that busy, which might scare you off, but just simply isn't justified. Perhaps more of a reflection of Brisbane's cultural state than the quality of this restaurant.

Good first experience
We are not familiar with Japanese food - the staff were very friendly and helpful, explaining what each dish was and how to eat it.
Complimentary soy beans to start while we read the menu, followed by complimentary steamed egg with chicken and vegetables. All the main courses came with rice and soup - we had eel, steak, mixed tempura and chicken teriyaki. Everyone ate everything - not bad for a picky husband and two teenagers.

very nice empty restaraunt
The food is excellent and the service very good. Nice spot to go to in winter with a wood fire burning, nice and cozy and romantic.
We tried the eel and the teriyaki steak. Both were incredibly good. The prices and quite reasonable also.
