Kojo Brown

Cosy and warming on those bleak Melbourne winter days and nights, this place is as hearty and comforting as its food. A true all-rounder, Kojo Brown offers casual breakfasts and lunches and a more refined dinner menu, with cocktails an essential treat while you peruse the offerings.

Dishes could include osso buco, paella and oxtail stew, though the menu does lighten up in the warmer months. Come back the next morning for a Berocca mocktail for breakfast, which promises miracles if you've indulged in one too many cocktails.

Beautiful food, reasonably priced and very friendly
We just left this restaurant and were rather impressed. We purchased vouchers and we're slightly concerned with reviews but from the first phone call, to entering the restaurant and again leaving we were very well looked after. I took my son and had my nephew there also. We were informed that they didn't have high chairs but that was no problem for us as we just bought in a bumbo seat for him. The waiter even seated us inside so that we wouldn't be too concerned with the children running onto the road (he suggested this which we felt to be quite endearing as he genuinely cared).
The sangria was of quality and very smooth.. Every item in our tapas was perfect we had king prawns, calamari, haloumi and drumsticks and they were so good we kept eating and had barramundi and the lamb salad which were both insatiable.. I even ordered the walnut, fig and macadamia flour less cake which once again was beautiful and the slice was extremely generous..
The mature male waiter was the stand out. He was so attentive and very kind to the children. The lady waitress was foreign (French maybe :P) so she had troubles with understanding some of our requests but tried very hard to meet our needs. She was very quiet but with the attitude of many Melbourne diners, I can understand why she tried to stay out of our way.

Overall I was very impressed. We were all so satisfied with our meals and everything was beautifully cooked. Waiters were friendly and took the time to give a smile to the children which we haven't found in many establishments. We will definitely return.

Food was pricey and the service bad
We went for a group breaky today. this place looks awesome. but beware. rip off. my friend payed for extra mushies and for $2 he got four tiny button mushrooms. wtf? poor form. $3 bought me one rasher of bacon. and yes, the service was very poor. not recomended.
