Very impressed by this never noticed restaurant
I found this restaurant on this site and thought it looked pretty good.
For our first time here, I took my husband and sister-in-law. When first entering, I'd have to say we were pretty impressed! Cute little bar and restaurant with a lovely alfresco dining area. We all ordered entrees and mains and had 2 serves of scallops and the goat's cheese ravioli for entrees which I have to say were outstanding. I am tempted to have three entrees next time because they were so good!
For our mains we had the beef, barramundi and duck. All were beautiful and came with really lovely sides. My husband got the beer battered chips and aioli which were extremely crunchy and filling and my sister and I also had salad sides which were yummy.
The steak was a little disappointing but only because of the price and size of the steak. $36 and the steak was VERY small. I understand this is a beautiful piece of meat but the size was tiny for the price compared to other restaurants around the area like Cinco and Rapide.
Overall we were utterly impressed with the restaurant and can't wait to go back. If you can, try and make it at around 6.30 as there is a rush of people at 7.30 and service gets a bit tight whereas if you dine at 6.30 there will only be a few other tables full. It was wonderful!!!

Nothing to write home about
We went to Kiss Fine Foods on Saturday night and I was really looking forward to it, after reading the reviews on here. There were four of us, two coeliacs.

We ordered the mezze plate to share (complete with gluten free bread) and then each had a main and dessert. According to the coeliacs, the bread was sour. It tasted fine to me, but they wouldn't eat it.

From order until mains were served it took 1.5 hours. TOO LONG. The serves were miniscule for the price - especially the king snapper fish special I had, which was about the size of a matchbox.

The creme brule was delicious (although they brought the coeliacs out one with shortbread on it - then took it back to the kitchen, pulled it off and re-presented it to them. VERY bad form.) The chocolate tart was delicious.

Dessert couldn't save the rest of the experience though. Not impressed

Finally somewhere got the hollandaise right!
I don't think I have to scream from the rafters to tell people about this little breakfast gem, as it's always pumping when I go there. But I would like to congratulate them on the best bloody eggs benedict in Brisbane. Eating here has made me so fussy whenever I eat anywhere else. Keep up the good work Kiss.

This place won't stay a secret for long
I chose this little gem as the venue for a first date. Having never been before, it was chosen primarily due to its out-of-the-city location and the write-up here on yourrestaurants. The experience started prior to arrival with a friendly voice on the phone taking my booking and arranging a first date suitable table. Walking into the restaurant, there was a relaxed and comforting atmosphere that lends itself well to intimate conversation or small gatherings. The staff were exceptional; attentive, friendly and informative without being disruptive, presenting wine and 'spring' dinner menus that complement each other very well.

For starters we shared the mezze plate - a delicious homemade flatbread with a trio of stunning dips; the portioning was ideal for two. Moving to mains, my partner thoroughly enjoyed the corn-fed chicken saltimbocca with a side of Tuscan potatoes. For myself I selected the Tasmanian lamb rack with a side of caesar and I dare say I have never encountered such a mouth-watering dish. Throw in a couple of glasses of well-matched wine and the whole affair becomes one to rave about.

We had a peek at the dessert selection and began salivating all over again, however gastronomic capacity prevented us from ordering, settling for coffee that was smooth and well rounded to complete the evening. When the bill arrived it was more than reasonable and accompanied by chocolate freckles (who doesn't like those, huh?).

The only criticism I can think of is that the courtyard could be slightly more screened from the carpark, and perhaps it will be when the shrubbery becomes more established. Either way you can be assured that I will return to Kiss on a regular basis to investigate the seasonal menu change and I'll be telling all my friends.

Great New Local Restaurant
We had the goats cheese ravioli and scallops and pancetta for entree. My wife loved the ravioli so much she could have had it again for mains. For mains my wife had eye fillet with salsa verde, which was tender and full of flavour. I had pork belly for main which had a nice crispy crackling that was the envy of the others at the table. Service was quick and friendly and the presentation was outstanding. Having a side included in the price of the main made it very good value. It now makes it hard to justify going out to Mexican when we can have a fine dining experience at the same price. We are going back again tonight so my wife can have that ravioli again.

What a great little find
I am writing a review for this restaurant because I want others to share the experience I have had on the three occasions I have eaten there.

The first time I dined it was a choice of a friend of mine as it was a new restaurant, and we thought we'd give it a go. We did not expect the qaulity of food or service we recieved, we did but it was the bill at the end of the night that secured me on my return visit.

The next time we came it was a busier little place, more staff on but the quality had not changed. I like this place. It has a really friendly feel. It's romantic, modern and relaxed.

To my delight, I recently ate there again and a new summer menu was on display. I really thought this was going to be the big test, but consistancy rang true. The whole things a hit.

Get down there and try it. Class.
