So, So
I was very excited to dine here as i had heard great reviews from friends and family however when i arrived i was not so impressed. The entrees were nice - very filling however the mains were undercooked, chewy, and flavorless. The service was slow and unhelpful and I had to go behind the front counter to pay. Not going back anytime soon.

Limited exposure
Given that I only popped in by myself for a quick bite for lunch and therefore only sampled one dish probably doesn't make this a comprehensive review but the special kim thanh special chicken salad I ordered ($11.50) was exceptionally good. Generous quantities of fresh herbs balanced the peppery flavour of the chicken, and the light dressing really topped it off. Excellent. Service was ok, nothing amazing but not bad either.

I agree with dubski re: the service. Waited for ages to be shown to our tables, waited yet again for our orders to be taken. All this was pretty tolerable. Had our entrees - good currypuffs. The crunch came when we waited 40 minutes for our mains to which the elderly waiter failed to apologise nor give us a good reason except for "sorry, we're busy". yes right, several tables after us had had their mains by then.
The sizzling satay chicken was a disappointment, as was the crispy chicken with lemon sauce. sigh... in future, i'd stick to Quan Thamh several doors down. the fact that they're ALWAYS busy is a sure sign of a good culinary experience. For kim thanh, 3/10.

Kim Thanh
The entrees were very large and very nice. The service was not so good. Slow to get attention, but once ordered the food came quite fast. Wine was opened for us but not poured. We were approached by the same waiter three times, he was hoping that we were the table that ordered that particular dish. There was no music so that really brought the atmosphere down. It reminded me of sitting at a bus terminal or small airport. Also there was no tablecloth and our table was sticky. My partner’s seat had food on it, we only found out afterwards when we got home - it was on her bum! The soups were really nice, top score there. Reasonable prices, good food, try it out.
