Takeaway mains extremely small
My partner and myself ordered 2 mains and a garlic bread for takeaway dinner tonight from Kibbi's. My partner picked the meals up and when we opened the containers we were extremely disappointed with the size of them. I doubt we were even served an entree size. We have previously had takeaway from the cafe and were happy with the serving size, but I was so disappointed tonight that we will never order from here again. I called the restaurant after seeing the size of the meals, of which the gentleman on the other end took my number. Someone did call me back and when I explained the situation they offered us a refund of the difference in meal price of $2 per meal (so charging the price of the entree). It's not even worth the drive with the price of fuel to collect a $4 refund. What a joke. This restaurant has gone from one of my favourites to one I will never return to. Definately not worth the more than $40 that we spent on garlic bread and 2 supposedly main meals!

Fantastic Breakfasts and Service
Kibbi's was for a long time my local cafe, where I regularly had breakfast and often had dinner. The service is usually impeccable, although in recent months it appears there has been an influx of new, somewhat untrained waitresses. No doubt they will learn with time! I am a huge fan of the Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine, as well as the delicious Vanilla Chai Lattes. For dinner, I highly recommend their Balinese prawns.

Definitely swing by for breakfast some time, you won't regret it.

Overpriced cheap food
My wife and I decided to catch up with a couple of old work mates and have a meal at Kibbi's Cafe, not knowing what to expect. Frankly, we were disappointed with all aspects of this cafe. Firstly, we are non-smokers, and for me cigarette smoke ruins the dining experience. So I was mighty unimpressed to find that Kibbi's has tables just outside the door available for diners who want to smoke, and that that smoke is drawn directly into the restaurant. Second we ordered the combination platter for two, which consisted of 2 chicken and 2 lamb kebabs, 2 kibbi's and 2 falafels, served with dips, tabouli and type of tomato, lettuce and cucumber salad. Honest food, but nothing exciting, all at the exorbitant price of $49. Now, I don't call kebabs, falafels and kibbis (a case of ground lamb and cracked wheat covering pine nuts and spice) gourmet food. I think of it as cheap, honest food. When I read the menu, I thought there'd be plenty of food to go around, considering I was paying $49. But this is strictly a platter for 2 ethiopian refugees. Finally, there were no offers to bring out another jug of water after we had emptied our first, and to top it off, our platter still had food on it when the waitress whisked it away without asking.
