Kenzan @ GPO is an offshoot of the well-known Kenzan in Flinders Lane. Kenzan @ GPO is a more casual version of the beloved favourite, but still continues the tradition of good-quality Japanese food. Specialising in beautifully presented and delicate-tasting sushi and sashimi, Kenzan is a great spot for a quick but quality lunch. In winter, the biting winds gusting through Postal Lane might make the pork ramen or a similar noodle broth more tempting, perhaps with a hot sake to fortify you for the trip back to the office.

my favourite Japanese noodles!
I've never had a bad meal at Kenzan @ GPO. The curry udon (which has been one of the specials for the last year or so) is perfect for winter, but my favourite are the cold noodles which are always flavour-packed... they're so good I have them even in winter. The last one I tried had a spicy sesame sauce (the name eludes me) and it was delicious! The service is fast and friendly - the only downside is trouble finding a table!

Nice place for a quick lunch
Tried sashimi, sushi and ramen on a few occasions. Sushi is the best in town of the same price range (the seaweed is separately packed with the sushi rice so it stays fresh and crispy). Ramen was also good and there was no MSG in the soup.

Fast, fresh, affordable, honest Japanese food. Tucked away in Postal Lane, Kenzan @ GPO has the the best sushi in town, only $7.50 for a mixed sushi pack or try the refreshing cold noodles: great on a hot summer's day.
