Housed in a charming historic building in Glenelg, Kathmandu Palace treats diners to an authentic Nepalese experience in food, atmosphere and culture. The warmly lit upstairs and downstairs dining rooms are decorated with traditional artworks including exotic paintings and decorative cloaks, setting the scene for a traditional cultural experience. The rich and delicate curries and charcoal-grilled dishes of Nepalese cuisine shine bright here, featuring chulo jhingey (king prawns in natural yoghurt, fresh ginger, chilli and lovage), lekali tihun (Himalayan-style chicken in homemade garam masala and fresh herbs), and mismas tarkari (a curry with cauliflower, potatoes and beans in green pepper, ginger, ground coriander and tomato).
