Restaurant Information
Kanpai
Fitting in perfectly with the hustle and bustle of this end of Chapel Street (close to Toorak Road), Kanpai holds its own against the bevy of other eateries with its menu of straightforward Japanese. Yes, it can be crowded, and it's not exactly the place for a romantic night out, but, on the plus side, the food is cheap and you should be able to find something for whatever mood you're in. Are you a vego seeking something savoury? Get stuck into a dish of teriyaki snowpeas. Want to get into the sashimi spirit but not much of a fish fan? Not a problem; try the gyusashi (thinly sliced raw beef with a lemon soy sauce). There's also a dizzying array of sushi rolls, teppanyaki and noodle dishes, all served in record time.
