One of two Kammadhenu restaurants in Newtown (with a third in Neutral Bay), this intimate little eatery serves up big flavours from South Indian, Malaysian and Sri Lankan culinary traditions. True to Indian Chettinad cuisine, the dishes interweave an exotic melange of spice and herb combinations, the kind that infuse dishes like the subtle coconut-dipped chicken Chettinad, or the tangier goat pepper masala. To match the heat coming from the plates, the purple-painted walls envelope diners in a warm and soothing environment that seems miles away from the activity of King Street.
