Just Bar

Just Espresso has changed its name to Just Bar, but for regulars it is known as just ... Just. This small joint in Como is cosy, yet with upbeat energy and a chic interior. Just is renowned for its tapas, served plate after tantalising plate. You can also graze over an 11-course set menu, and choose wines from France, South Africa, New Zealand and, naturally, Spain.

Group Bookings Beware
I called to organise my birthday dinner at JustBar for a group of my friends and family and was given a list of criteria to satisfy before they would accept my booking.

Not to mention being spoken to like I was a child and barked orders at. I would not recommend this restaurant for group bookings. Hard to comment on the food or the service as both staff members I spoke to on the phone were too rude in conversation. Not to mention no-one returning my calls after leaving two messages.

Relaxing way to dine
The food was excellent and it was a very relaxing way to dine. Yes, the serves are small, but we did get enough to eat, (we had the 11 courses); the long menu was 15 courses. The only negative thing I can say is that the desert at $15 was rather small on this night. Three tiny items...$4-$5 would be more appropriate for the price. I would recommend this to all my friends.

Not worth it.
If you want to be overcharged - this is the place for you.

The food was painfully small. One scallop, one piece of prosciutto (these were considered courses!)

The wines were overpriced, and we got charged for an extra bottle we didn't drink ($45) and for $30 worth of sparkling water even though we only had one bottle!! (only realised this later, so VERY disappointed in their deliberately underhanded or negligent behaviour)

Overall - left feeling dissatisfied on every level.

The food was tasty but definitely not enough considering we had the long menu. Even if all the food was put on a plate it would not constitute a single meal and not satisfying at all. We left having to consider getting fast food and spending $86 per person!

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

Not good
Had heard good things about this place but we had the 'long course' for $60 per head, we all walked away starving and drinks that we didn't have appeared on the bill. The food was nice though.

Terrific Tapas
Friends of mine recommended this place and I must remember to thank them. Although it's a little out of the way, it really is worth a visit. We went on a cold, wet Wednesday night and the mood inside was very warm and inviting. There were 6 of us and we decided on the $40 set tapas menu which was superb. It was lovely that each course was a suprise and the quality of the dishes were amazing. We tried some new 'taste sensations' and all of us were really impressed with the variety. Having loved the tapas at Duende for some time this place had some big shoes to fill and fill them it did. Then food was seriously good value for money, although having said that the wines were very much on the pricey side. All in all though, I'm looking forward to returning again soon.

Tapas for lunch
Found this little gem on the net for a regular Sunday lunch outing and was pleasantly surprised. They only serve tapas for lunch so small portions, basically a taste of everything you choose from the menu. We had some delicious king prawns in Moroccan butter, courgette gratin on polenta and a couple other yummy bites. The outstanding dish for this restaurant on our books though is the braised beef cheeks - divine! The best we have had. The bar is small, staff are friendly, unpretentious and very knowledgable about everything that comes out of the kitchen. If you have a big appetite this place may not be for you, go for pub grub, but if you appreciate tasty morsels of very fresh and expertly prepared ingredients, give it a go. We will be back again for sure.
